A number of members had volunteered to help on our stands and although there were quiet periods, at other times we were kept really busy answering enquiries. Thanks to our member John Curd, who had prepared a rolling slide show of photographs, members of the public could appreciate the nature of our monthly events and watch images of young people taking part in our public speaking competitions both in Angers and in London.
At both exhibitions, people were invited to take part in a draw to win 2 free meals at our December lunch to celebrate the festive season together. The winners will be notified following the draw which will take place at our next committee meeting at the end of October.
These exhibitions provide superb opportunities for us to interact with the public, to explain what we do and to establish new contacts, both with individuals who may be interested in joining us and with other societies who may in the future like to work with us to enrich our monthly events. As a direct result, we have extended our distribution list to include over 50 new names and we hope to have attracted some new members.
Thank you to all who gave up their time to help.
